Day 1 – Arusha to Arusha National Park
Your safari adventure begins! Your guide will pick you up from your hotel in or around Arusha between 8:00–8:30 AM and drive to Arusha National Park. Nestled at the base of Mount Meru, this scenic park offers diverse habitats, from forests that shelter the black-and-white colobus monkey to lakes frequented by flamingos. After short game drives, explore the park on foot—spotting giraffes, buffalo, and other wildlife from a safe distance. Overnight at Mvuli Hotel, Arusha (or similar), where you can relax by the pool.
Day 2 – Tarangire National Park
Depart around 6:30 AM with packed lunches for a 2.5-hour drive to Tarangire National Park, famous for towering baobabs and vast elephant herds. Enjoy a full day of game drives, with sightings possibly including lions, leopards, cheetahs, kudu, oryx, giraffes, and zebras. Picnic lunch at a scenic spot before continuing until late afternoon. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.
Day 3 – Lake Manyara National Park
After breakfast, depart at 8:30 AM for a full day in Lake Manyara National Park with a picnic lunch. Explore lush forests, spot giraffes, impalas, baboons, and perhaps the elusive tree-climbing lions. In the right season, the lake’s shoreline turns pink with flamingos. Return to your lodge for dinner.
Optional tours: Canoeing ($90 pp) or Night game drive ($125 pp).
Day 4 – Transfer to Serengeti
After breakfast, check out around 9:00 AM and journey via Karatu and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area to Serengeti National Park. Pass Maasai villages before reaching the Seronera area by early afternoon. Afternoon game drive until 5:30 PM. Overnight at Tukaone Camps (or similar).
Optional tours: Maasai Village visit ($35 pp) or Olduvai Gorge Museum ($45 pp).
Day 5 – Full Day in Serengeti
After breakfast, head out with packed lunches for 8–9 hours of game drives in Central Serengeti. Return to camp in the late afternoon. Overnight at Tukaone Camps.
Optional tours: Balloon Safari ($580 pp) or Walking Safari ($45 pp sharing / $60 solo).
Day 6 – Morning Serengeti & Karatu
Early departure at 6:30 AM for a morning game drive until noon. Transfer to Karatu via Ngorongoro. Overnight at Crater Rim Inn (or similar).
Optional tours: Maasai Village ($35 pp) or Olduvai Gorge Museum ($55 pp).
After breakfast, descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a 5-hour game drive, spotting lions, elephants, rhinos, hippos, hyenas, jackals, zebras, and abundant birdlife. Picnic lunch by the Hippo Pool, then ascend and return to Arusha (3.5 hours). End of tour. Hotel in Arusha available at extra cost.
